bio
My name is Ágnes Fazoli, but most people call me ági. I was born and raised in Transilvania, in a Hungarian family of a technical drawer mother and an architect father. Ever since I can remember I was surrounded by mechanical pencils, technical pens, rulers and plans, and for the longest time these were the coolest gadgets I could get my hands on while visiting my parents and their colleagues at their workplace. The love for architecture and design was passed down to my sister and I; she became an architect just like Dad, while I studied interior design and have been working as an office fit our project manager.
For years I've been trying to find an outlet for my creativity, and while painting has been a long time dream of mine it took a pandemic and global lock down to finally pick up those 30+ years old Rotring pencils and start sketching.
After nearly two decades living in Budapest, HU and a couple years in the USA, I currently call London, UK my home. This is where I am creating my often geometrical abstract drawings, paintings, and am experimenting with more expressive compositions also. It gives me great pleasure to produce these mostly monochromatic pieces and explore the simplicity of a black line, the added texture and the final composition. I hope you'll enjoy them as well.
